Welcome (back) to ‘The Other Way’ with Lindsey podcast! After taking a break, I’m relaunching with a fresh focus — centering real, honest conversations with people who are intentionally choosing to walk a different path in life.
My first guest is Emily who I came across on Instagram (@emilyjheap) when one of her posts about turning 40, living in a van, on the verge of bankruptcy but.... being the happiest she’s ever been went viral — and it instantly resonated. In fact, my stomach burst with how much her story resonated and how much I wanted to share it more with others.
So rather than let my over analytical mind take over, to wait for me to ‘officially’ relaunch the podcast, to get my posting rhythm back here on Substack …I called myself out. To stop putting up invisible hurdles and JUST DO IT!
So after a quick IG DM sent last week, a Zoom meeting at 2pm today and a few hours of editing in Descript…it’s DONE! It just shows you what you can achieve when you get out of your own way.
Cliche reminder that messy action is better than perfect. (Not that this episode isn’t gold of course!)
In this episode, we dive into:
- Redefining success and walking away from a life that “looked perfect” on paper
- The emotional and practical challenges of choosing a different path
- Life with ADHD, past failures, and why entrepreneurship isn’t always shiny
- The pressure to conform to timelines around careers, relationships, and motherhood
- Why freedom, community, and personal alignment matter more than ever
This conversation is exactly what The Other Way is all about — sharing stories that remind us we’re not alone in wanting something different, and that bravery often begins with one step in a new direction.
I have no doubt you’ll enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
If you’re someone who would like to be featured on the podcast and to share YOUR story about walking ‘the other way’ in life, then I’d love to hear from you! Send me an email or DM!
